AND THE OSCAR GOES TO…

02.28

Last night’s Academy Awards gave us ton of surprises and we’re not just talking about the awards. The style was all over the map – full of sequins, bright colors, clean lines, and hip-hugging gowns. We also loved Anne Hathaway’s second gown that she wore on stage (the white

Our favorite looks are below – who were your picks for best dressed?

Pretty in Purple

Cate Blanchett won us over with her daring but gorgeous Givenchy gown – with it’s modern appeal but feminine colors and softness, this dress was made for the Oscars. We also applaud Natalie Portman for choosing a better dress for her pregnant belly – this Rodarte number looks phenomenal on her and accentuates the right parts! Natalie’s Black Swan costar, Mila Kunis also knocked it out of the park with her Elie Saab ensemble. Sweet, sexy and just the right amount of Oscar glamour.

Couture in Cream

Celine Dion at the Oscars? Random. Either way, she looked stunning in this long-sleeved Armani Prive gown. Celine looks classy and svelte and she’s never looked better. High-five to her stylist for picking this slimming and sultry number. We haven’t yet found a full-length picture of Anne Hathaway in the amazing embellished cream Givenchy Haute Couture gown she wore when first gracing the Oscar Stage, so the pic on the bottom right will have to do. The red one she wore on the red carpet didn’t strike us as anything special, but we adore this dress! Rachel Zoe was right, white IS the new black. We also liked Gwenyth Paltrow’s sequined gown (not pictured), but we’re not sold on it – it looked great on her, but we think the lack of color washes her out a bit (and it just looks like a little too much).
