Ok ladies, I need your help. I’m no beauty expert. I’ve been bouncing around between mascaras trying to pick the best one for me. Sometimes I think this one is the clear winner, but then sometimes I like how this kind doesn’t clump as easily after a few coats (the latter is cheaper too). Basically, I just want Cara Delevigne’s lashes in the above photo seven days a week (practical, right?). I’ve started using Neulash to help boost and lengthen my lashes, but I know most of it has to do with the choice of mascara. I’d love your recommendations! I’m need of a mascara makeover (and preferably before I leave for NYFW!).
PS – if you know how to make my eyebrows look like Cara’s too, you get bonus points.

I’m sure this’ll be the most common answer, but DIORSHOW black out. I’ve tried numerous numerous mascaras, and I always go back to this. Another great one is by Clinique (its a silver tube – not sure the name). Definitely need to try both!
The Casual Classic
Love DiorShow, but I swear that L’Oreal Voluminous works just as well (and costs so much less)!
Kimberly took the words out of my mouth. Diorshow is wonderful but my sister and I did a test a couldn’t tell on which lashes I used diorshow or L’oreal. And L’Oreal has a great one for the bottom lashes as well with a tiny brush that works just as well as the expensive clinique one. I cannot remember the name but I have it at home.
I had the WORST time finding mascara I loved. I was content with Diorshow Newlook, as it doesn’t clump like the original, but one day a Nordstrom beauty consultant showed me this Smashbox mascara. (http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/smashbox-photo-op-eye-brightening-mascara/3480562?origin=category-personalizedsort&contextualcategoryid=0&fashionColor=&resultback=604&cm_sp=personalizedsort-_-browseresults-_-1_2_D) Not a brand I have worn before, but I LOVE the mascara. Also, it doesn’t break the bank to try it out. I hope this helps. (I still wear my Diorshow Newlook every once in a while, too)
I agree with Kimberly- L’oreal Voluminous is a great option. If you want insane drama, Mac Haute Naughty Lash mascara is an option, just ignore the opening that is for “regular lashes” and go for the opening that gives you major drama and total looks false. Also love Tarte Light Camera Lashes and if you want a nice review of best mascaras, Paula Begoun is my lifesaver when it comes to any makeup and skincare review so check out her full list: http://www.paulaschoice.com/beautypedia-skin-care-reviews/best-makeup-products/Makeup/Mascaras?sort=product&direction=asc&pageNumber=1&pageSize=100&treenodeid=4d80599c-8d31-482b-831e-640fce90b9ae No joke, she’s my beauty g-d.

They’re Real by Benefit is really great. It’s my new favorite. You can get it at Ulta. I also use Definicils by Lancome or Hypnose. Lancome mascaras are amazing. I swear by them. Always get the blackest black you can if you want those Cara lashes.

Totally agree with April that “They’re Real” is my new favorite. I love that the end has a different brush tip that makes it easier to get the smaller, trickier to reach lashes!
they’re real is miraculous
I have short, thin lashes & I swear by Clinique’s High Definition mascara – & it’s only $14! Buy them one at a time at Sephora, try them out, & return them if you don’t like them – their return policy is great!

Hi Merritt!
I use two mascaras and swear by them both!
Buxom Lash by BUXOM (http://www.sephora.com/buxom-lash-P228204?skuId=1143486)
Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash ( http://www.sephora.com/buxom-lash-P228204?skuId=1143486)
Both of these mascaras are great. The MU4E is one that i have used for three years. It does get a little clumpy if you layer too much. However, when it is placed over the Buxom Lash once or twice, it creates the perfect lash!
Good Luck!
Maybelline’s the Rocket Volum’ Express is my secret weapon!!

Anastasia’s brow powder duo is my trick for awesome brows. Use darker color in the duo for inner part of your brows and the lighter shade starting at the notch in your brow (if that makes sense). BEST brow powder out there. And I use a cheap rough toothbrush to brush my brows into place. Anastasia also makes a clear brow gel to keep your brows in place. Or in a pinch, I’ve sprayed hairspray on that toothbrush and brushed them into place. I prefer the hairspray because sometimes the gel can get kind of thick and cause too much separation of your brows.

Benefit they’re real or Maybelline The Falsies – both AMAZING! x
The obsession to find the perfect mascara starts early. As a 50 yo woman I can honestly say I’ve tried all of the brands listed in comments. I believe the perfect mascara is as personal as my favorite brand of jeans. What works well and looks great on me is not the same for another. I have a “mascara process” starting with Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Mascara, followed by Stila Major Lash, and I end with Covergirl Clump Crusher. This is what works for me today, it will change as new products come on the market!
Merritt,
The way to get Cara’s lashes is all in layering your mascaras! I have used this technique for years and it works amazingly. The key is layering mascaras that have different effects. The first layer you will want something that is defines and separates the lashes. I use Benefit They’re Real! mascara, but you could use your favorite Clinique one as well. This provides a good base layer. For a little extra separation and added effect, I use CoverGirl LastBlast Fusion. It has a great color to it and it also gets lashes I missed. Finally, you will want to use a volumizing mascara – Dior Show is amazing for this! It’s one of my favorites! For a night look, I use a mascara in a very black color. If you want to make the look piecer, swipe the Benefit It’s Real Mascara wand vertically on the lower lids. I promise this will give you the most amazing lashes!

Layering in my trick, too. You must try it!
I like the classic Maybeline and Benefit “they’re real”.
I get asked by on a regular basis if my eye lashes are real. I swear by Clinique’s High Impact mascara. It is the best thing ever. Once when I was an intern at Teen Vogue, Eva Chen even complimented me on them saying I had the best lashes she’s seen.
Gosh, I wish I can help you! Im in the same boat as you and Im glad you did this post! I love her lashes and that is exactly what I want.

I have been using Makeup Forever’s Aqua Smoky Lash for several years and will never use anything else. I tried the Dior everyone raves about and honestly didn’t see what all the fuss was about! http://www.sephora.com/aqua-smoky-lash-P237501
All of the choices above are fantastic. My ultimate favs are benefit ‘they’re real’, maybelline falsies flared and the rocket, Tarte’s Amazonian clay mascara is a wonderful all natural product that gives your lashes tons of volume-(the one in the bamboo tube), MACs 3D mascara’s brush works wonders, and YSLs babydoll or shocking mascara are both fantastic choices. They also use rose oil like dior show to nourish your lashes and keep them healthy!
Had so much fun with you this past weekend!! Have a blast in NY for fashion week!

First off if we could ALL have lashes like this every day of the week then i don’t know about you but my life would be pretty fulfilling. I have always been one to invest in my mascaras however lately I decided to try the Maybelline “One by One” Mascara in the red orange tube. It is AMAZING! After I apply the Maybelline I use the ever so cliche Dior Show Extase on top of that to create nothing but a flawless mascara look. Have a great day lovelies.
Stay Beautiful,

maybe this is an option for you:

I layer Benefit They’re Real over Cover Girl’s Professional All-in-One. CG, then curl them, then CG, then They’re Real. Works like a charm for me! Good luck finding what works for you!

currently obsessed with The Real by Benefit.
Honestly, if you want amazing lashes I think eyelash extensions are the way to go! I’ve only tired it once but my lashes didn’t even need mascara and they were full and perfectly curled ALL.THE.TIME. They lasted for about 3 weeks. If I had the money I’d keep getting them done! Anyway, I use L’Oreal Voluminous Million lashes and it gets the job done!

Hey! I wish I hadn’t just seen this post. Chantecaille has an amazing lash growth mascara. Also, Too Faced has a “Better Than Falsies Nylon Lash Extension System” that is awesome. L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara is also amazing. So glad to see you in NYC :)
