With a whopping seven weddings from April to July, I need to stock up on a few new dresses. Several of the weddings are for college friends, so I’m bound to see the same people at a few of them (translation = I’m not going to wear the same dress at each one)! Each wedding is different and has a unique dress code – with one in La Jolla, one in Santa Fe, three in Austin, one in San Antonio and one in Dallas, I need variety. I think it’s disrespectful to wear mini-dresses in a church setting (and since the spotlight should be on the bride), so I usually opt for a dress that at least comes to my knees. I love this soft blue dress by Tadashi Shoji, and the little cape overlay is sophisticated and so Grace Kelly, don’t you think? That dress would be perfect for a couple of the Texas weddings. For the La Jolla wedding I think I’m going to go for this bright blue + orange Tracy Reese. I saw it in action at the Neiman Marcus trend event a few weeks ago and it’s actually the back of the dress that sold me. Click here to see it – it’s just magical! Another great beachy option is this graphic-printed maxi dress by BCBG – love the high-low hem! I’m going to wear my trusty Chloe dress to the rehearsal dinner in Santa Fe (I’m a bridesmaid for this wedding) and probably one of the Austin weddings, but also think this pink jacquard Richard Nicholl shift would be amazing for one of the others. A couple of the weddings are black tie, and I think this coral Raoul dress would be brilliant. It’s not too flashy and it’s such a gorgeous shade for spring and summer. Which are your favorites?
