Lake Austin Spa Resort | The Style Scribe

As you know, my birthday was this past Friday, and as a way to celebrate it, my sister and I took a little staycation at Lake Austin Spa Resort for three days last week! It was probably the most relaxing and rejuvenating three days of my life. The moment I arrived I was given a full run-down of the facilities, an adorable embroidered Lake Austin Spa tote and a water bottle. They provide each guest with a full schedule of the various fitness classes and fun activities that are happening that week – and trust me when I say it is a full schedule. There is literally something new to do every hour! Their fitness classes range from dance-based classes like Zumba and 80’s at 8, to kickboxing and yoga. In addition to the indoor classes, they also have a fully stacked dock with kayaks, paddleboards and hydro-bikes (my fave). On my last day, I also took an Aqua Tabata class in the pool barn – have any of y’all ever tried that? It’s actually really hard, but very fun! As far as other activities go, they have cooking demonstrations led by the Lake Austin Spa Resort chefs, lake cruises, watercolor painting, garden tours, and even nutrition classes! Needless to say, I didn’t have a lot of down time because I wanted to go to as many things as possible! You could almost call the resort a luxurious summer camp for adults. Kind of awesome, right?

While my sister and I took full advantage of the activities at Lake Austin Spa Resort, it’s also just as fun to sit back, relax and enjoy the grounds. They have three pools to lounge in (the spa pool, the resort pool and the pool barn), several hammocks hanging by the water, a lush garden to explore and two delicious restaurants boasting healthy but tasty meals. A few favorite meals I had include the chilled carrot soup with dill creme fraiche (scroll down for a pic), a vegetable pad thai, and their delightfully light sorbets that changed daily. As far as the accommodations, I was extremely impressed. Guests of the resort stay in private cabins that face Lake Austin – while it looks cute and a little rustic on the outside, the interiors are light and open with amazing decor and attention to detail. Check out some of the pics below for a peek into my room! The cabins aren’t the only spaces with beautiful decoration and design – each area of the resort was clearly well-thought out. One of my favorite spaces was the Garden Library – sitting in-between the resort pool and the lush garden, it’s a bright but quiet cottage that’s ideal for catching up on your favorite read when you need a break from the Texas heat. It’s outfitted with four separate seating areas, a gorgeous gold-framed mirror and a crystal ship chandelier.

Finally, I must touch on the spa. As a guest of the resort, you are able to access all of the spa amenities (like the sauna, steamroom, and spa pool) in addition to the yummy Astor Cafe for free. In addition to that, you can also purchase exquisite treatments like a refreshing facial, body treatment or massage (click here to check out the full list of treatments). You don’t have to be a guest of the resort to visit the spa though! If you book a treatment at the spa, you have access to all the spa amenities for the full day – you won’t have access to the fitness classes or resort area, but the spa itself is worth the trip. On the day I was getting my massage, my mom booked her own treatment so she could come have lunch with us and we could enjoy a day at the spa together! Whether you choose to spend several days at the resort or just a quick day-trip to the spa, the Lake Austin Spa Resort will not disappoint.
