I don’t know about you, but I had some serious “Sunday Scaries” yesterday. I had a rather big weekend – it first started Thursday with the incredible Oscar de la Renta exhibit at the George W. Bush Presidential Library with my mom! She came to town for a quick one-night visit to do a little shopping, check out the newly launched exhibit and grab dinner. We hit up Highland Park Village, (one of our must-stop’s while she’s in town) to check out the goods at stores like Madison, Tory Burch and Jimmy Choo (I bought these half off!). In addition to my Choo purchase, I also picked up this faux-tucked tank at SCOOP. Can we talk about the method of a tucked shirt for a minute? I’ve never been able to pull off that effortless tucked look that you see often on those chic and casual outfits you’re constantly pinning. Whenever I’ve tried to do it with a regular top and jeans, it ends up looking forced and not cute whatsoever (translation = bulky and unflattering). Anyone else have that problem?

That’s why when I came across this top by new-to-me line, Sen, I had to try it on! Not only is the work done for you to get that effortless look, it is the softest thing I’ve ever laid my hands on. It has all the qualities I’m looking for in a purchase: it’s comfortable, classic and cool all at the same time. I’m seriously so obsessed with it, I am getting it in gray and white too (pick up the white one at SCOOP in Dallas!). Anyway, back to Thursday – the ODLR exhibit is really worth a trip. My mom and I attended the press preview, where former first lady Laura Bush spoke. Such a treat! After the exhibit, we tried a new restaurant called Spoon Bar & Kitchen. It’s in a funky location within Preston Center (across from Hopdoddy’s), but the second you step inside you’re charmed by the elegant and modern decor. While we were expecting a primarily fish-filled menu after glancing at the site, we were not expecting a real fine dining experience (just based on the location). Boy, were we wrong! The meal we enjoyed at Spoon is one of the best I’ve ever had in Dallas. We didn’t order the tasting menu, but we may as well have since they kept bringing by little amuse-bouche’s, pre-desserts and other fun treats throughout the meal. Our favorite dish? The “Singapore style” lobster chili with Texas toast. It. Was. Mind. Blowing. I really could have just eaten that with my beautiful pea salad, but we both ordered fish dishes for dinner. I highly recommend trying out Spoon – you won’t be disappointed!

The rest of the weekend was spent going out with friends, so I’m a wee bit tired. Hope you all have a fabulous week!
