Probably the dressiest night in California was the evening we dined at The Marine Room in La Jolla. Upon arriving, you’re greeted by a beautiful entrance – don’t you just love the combo of the gold + wooden nautical doors with the more mod lit-up sign? Chic. The restaurant sits right on the beach, although all seating is indoors. It’s the perfect place for a romantic dinner, birthday or other celebration – amazing service and the food was decadent, to say the least. We’ve heard the best time to grab dinner there is the night of the new moon. The tide comes up so high that the waves crash against the windows! Apparently it’s quite an experience. While we didn’t get to see that, we did witness a breathtaking sunset!

As you can see, I obviously love my new Topshop skirt. You saw this skirt styled with it’s matching top last week, but this night I dressed it up even more for a night out with clutches and fun booties. It is definitely a set I will travel with again, considering it’s been so useful and versatile! A couple other pieces that have been ideal travel partners include this tank, this tote and these sandals. I wear them all. the. time. See a running trend here? Black is definitely my go-to shade. I invested in yet another pair of black heels last week – but isn’t this style so beautiful? Couldn’t say no. What are your current travel staples?
