Rancho Valencia | The Style ScribeSadly, today marks the end of my posts from California. I wish I could have endless beautiful backdrops to photograph! On our last night, we drove through Rancho Santa Fe to dine at the Rancho Valencia hotel. The grounds of the hotel are breathtaking – even the trees are amazing! It would be the ideal location for a destination wedding, in my opinion. The food was incredible, but what stood out even more was the fantastic service. If you want to have it all (great scenery, delicious food and the best service), Rancho Valencia is the spot for that. The weather was somewhat cool on our last night, so I decided to pull out all my leather pieces for the first time before fall!

I picked up this Nicholas crop top on sale at Bergdorf’s while I was in NYC in May, and this Zara skirt (very similar here) a couple weeks ago on major sale too. Don’t they look cute together? You’d never guess that the Zara skirt is faux leather, would you? Wearing the two pieces together makes it almost look like a leather dress with cutouts, which I love! Subtle cutouts are sexy without being way too showy. Speaking of leather, I have a few other pieces I’m eyeing… Now tell me if I’m crazy, but I am obsessed with these gaucho pants by Veronica Beard. I feel like they’d look super cute with a half-tucked blouse and heels for fall. Chic, no? I’m also contemplating either this dress or this one (both by Halogen). Pretty inexpensive (for leather) and both are classic styles you’ll have for years. For a really crazy item that is clearly not in my budget (but totally worth drooling over), this Valentino leather + fringe skirt is to die for. Are any of you picking up new leather pieces for fall? It’s a fabric I just can’t say no to.
