Every woman needs a good pair of pants in her closet. A classic style and fit like the pixie pant is ideal for transitional dressing, whether it’s from day to night or from summer to fall! I typically think of work when I hear “pants” unless the word “leather” comes first – anyone else? Old Navy’s array of chic pixie pants has reinvented the word for me. Not only do they come in a bunch of pretty colors and prints, but they also have tall, regular and petite lengths to give each lady her perfect fit. I obviously selected the tall style! I wanted to share a few ways I’ve styled pixies and how they’re taking me from work to weekend with ease – let me know what you think and shop each outfit below! PS – head over to Refinery29 today to see my feature with Old Navy!!

LOOK 1 — FRIDAY — WORK

When I have meetings with a potential collaboration partner or brand, I want to look chic as a way to represent my blog, but also put together and sophisticated enough so that they take me seriously. While I love to make my outfits more fashion forward (and sometimes a little wild) for a night out, my daytime looks are much more subdued. Even when working in a creative field like interior design, consulting or anything tech-related, you want to show that you will put your best foot forward when working with that person – for me, that means dressing professionally, being polite, and wearing a confident smile. Shop my work look below!

Old Navy Hi-Lo V-Neck Sweater (I ordered the tall style in this sweater too – love the length!), Old Navy Pixie Pants, Smythson Tote (on sale!! also love this neutral color), Old Navy T-Strap Sandals, Kate Spade Sunglasses c/o, Ippolita Ring, Nicola Bathie Necklace

LOOK 2 — SATURDAY — NIGHT OUT

For a night out, I like to incorporate more color into my outfit – I’m certainly not opposed to standing out in a crowd, and a punchy pop of red is just the ticket! For a night out in the coolest part of Dallas (aka Deep Ellum), I wanted to make the outfit slightly edgier than I normally do, so I pulled out this light New York tank. For an even bolder look, I topped the ensemble off with a matching red blazer and a bright red lip. Black heels and a simple clutch level everything out, don’t you think? Shop my Saturday style below!

LOOK 3 — SUNDAY — PICNIC

I often like to spend my Sundays trying something new, whether that’s a new recipe, a fun activity or a new exercise class. The Dallas Arboretum is such a beautiful spot, even if they don’t have an exhibit or display going on, so I thought it would be the perfect place to visit! During the summer, it’s a great spot to go for lunch – whether you bring your own picnic or visit their restaurant, Degolyer. I picked up a cute picnic basket, packed my Calypso blanket (thanks Dori!) and snacks, and then I headed out the door! Old Navy’s pixie pants were a clear choice for this outing, since they are so soft and comfortable – easy to lounge in, even when you’re on the ground! Shop my casual daytime look below.
