Per usual, I’m getting ahead of myself, but I just can’t help it! I’m ready for fall. Anybody else? In fact, I was so ahead of myself on this one that these photos were actually taken before I got my new lens… Oops! Now that it’s officially September it felt more appropriate to post it. An item that I picked up recently that I’ve been wearing the heck out of is this pair of slip-on sneakers. Last fall I learned not to invest a lot of money into something that is super trendy right away – I purchased these Isabel Marant sneakers (which I loved) and ended up not being able to wear them with as much as I thought I would. This year, one of the bigger shoe trends is the slip-on sneaker. Everyone from Celine to Vince has concocted some version of this shoe, but all were at a price range I was just not really willing to test the trend out on. That is until I spotted this pair at Old Navy – they look nearly identical to say, this pair or this pair, but for a huge fraction of the price. I’ve been wearing them so much more than I thought I would! They are super comfortable and basic, so they go with a lot and can be worn all day – did I mention they are only $23? Win win, I say.

Another item I’ve gotten so much use out of over the last year is this Proenza Schouler tee. It’s such an amazing basic that I’ve worn with just about everything in my closet at this point. Because it’s so light, this tee can be worn year-round and layered with a bunch of other pieces. If you haven’t noticed, Proenza Schouler is constantly making appearances on my blog – they are definitely one of my favorite designers and I’m constantly saving up for another piece from their collections. A few favorites from fall ’14 include this flocked-print cutout dress (as seen on Lucky’s September issue cover!), this clutch, and these buckled sandals. I’d also love to add this structured cotton shirt to my collection of wardrobe staples. Minimalist and chic! Needless to say, I’m really looking forward to seeing what the handsome boys bring us for Spring ’15.
