periwinkle blue

Although I talk on and on about the importance of owning basics and neutrals, sometimes you just need a statement or colorful piece to brighten up your look! I found the perfect periwinkle blue coat at Topshop while in New York for fashion week, and was counting down the days until I could sport it in London!Read More →

notting hill london

Last Saturday I spent the day discovering the historic (but new to me) neighborhood of Notting Hill. This area of London is one (of very many, I'm sure) that I had not seen on prior trips to the city, so I was eager to explore Notting Hill solo to get the full experience. I just had the taxi drop me off on a random corner, and then all I did was just wander around for a few hours - sometimes that's the best way to learn the lay of the land and discover the prettiest spots.Read More →

black on black on black

There are few things I love more than a chic, all-black look. Last week I showcased a few favorite black basics under $100, so I felt it was only appropriate to feature a  monochrome black ensemble! If you're not on a strict budget this fall and don't need to stick to the under $100 rule, there are a few key black pieces that you need to see/lust after/buy (in addition to this look of course).Read More →

On Friday, Krystal and I stopped by Reiss headquarters in London to meet with the PR girls. It was so fun to hear about what they have coming up for holiday (think lots of pretty party dresses)! The Reiss team was super nice and even let us pick out a few pieces to take with us. I...Read More →

iris & ink

Hello, from London! It's been a whirlwind of a trip so far. Lots of great meetings, delicious meals and exploring different parts of the city! fair day

A couple weeks back I took an afternoon away from my laptop to partake in the State Fair of Texas! My friend Dori (who also works from home) was able to slip away for the day, so we spent the afternoon stuffing our faces with some delicious fried foods, riding the rides and even watched some pig races. If you didn't get a chance to go this year, go in 2015 and definitely go to the pig races - I've never laughed so hard in my life! It was the perfect fall day - bright and sunny, but the air was crisp and cool.Read More →

new & old

Today's outfit features a few new favorites paired back with some oldies (but goodies). I recently picked up this pretty pleated skirt at Nordstrom for fall/the holidays (see the sparkle?) and I have already been getting a bunch of use out of it. It's comfortable and an appropriate length for daytime wear, but with just a hint of sparkle, this skirt can take me through the weekend for upcoming holiday parties! Another recent acquisition is this olive crocodile clutch.Read More →
