While you’ll probably never see me in a pair of Nike Free’s with anything other than work-out clothes (it’s just not my look), I do love some aspects of the norm-core/sport-chic trend that’s created a frenzy in street style fashion. One of these aspects? The baseball cap. I used to not think of myself as a hat person, but lately I’ve become more daring with this particular accessory. I picked up this leather one at J.Crew right before fashion week and it’s been a pretty easy topper for days when I just don’t want to spend a lot of time doing my hair (which is a lot of days). It adds a hint of cool without much effort, which I’m all about. Because I’ve gotten so much use out of this one, I’m on the hunt for another in a more basic shade (black or nude, perhaps?). I also love the idea of a wool cap – another fabric fabulous for fall. If you’re looking for a more menswear-inspired cap, this pinstripe cap and this colorblock hat are both great and inexpensive. I’ll be taking a few hats on my London trip, considering the amount of rain it always gets – stay tuned for more ways to style these sporty chic accessories!

PS – I just picked up two new pairs of jeans from James Jeans, and I’m convinced they were made just for me. They fit like a glove and are so flattering! The pair you see here is called the High Class Coated Skinny. High waisted, coated and black? Done and done. Shop them here.
