Holiday dressing. No, I’m not talking about the stuff you put inside the turkey. Dressing for the holidays can be tough – especially in my family, when there’s always a new activity or something to do! For example, this year for Thanksgiving we’ll be having a quick lunch at the house before heading to the ranch, and then we’ll be hopping on a party bus to go to the A&M game that evening. See what I mean? You kinda have to be ready for anything. But let’s talk about Christmas. We typically tend to dress a little fancier for Christmas – I’m not sure whether it’s because we go to church or because my mom loves to host a sit-down dinner, but it’s always dressier around these parts the days surrounding Christmas. With this in mind, I’m always looking for ensembles that can work those unpredictable day-to-night events. We often have other parties at friend’s homes that we attend throughout the holidays, in addition to our own festivities, so I want to wear something comfortable and chic but look also look put together at the same time.
I’ve gotten major holiday wardrobe inspiration from Escada’s Fall 2014 campaign – aren’t the colors and textures just heavenly? This dress would be absolutely perfect for Christmas Eve dinner, don’t you think? I’m head over heels for it. The velvet bow and the romantic embroidered flowers on this dress are so lovely. It’s also a flattering fit (cinched waist) and modest cut, making it ideal for church. Just throw on a pretty coat and you’re good to go! Another gorgeous option for Christmas Eve is this windowpane print sheath. I adore the high bateau neckline and extended cap sleeves on this number. Modern and sophisticated. For Christmas day, I know I’ll want to be a little more relaxed. This belted jacquard knit cardi would be amazing with these leggings and over the knee boots! The green + black print is festive without being overbearing or cheesy, and it’ll keep you cozy all day long. If you want a bit more color and love a good monochrome look, you must check out this stretch wool crepe top and matching pants. If your holiday season is filled with black tie functions, this red gown is a stunner. Love the one-shoulder silhouette with the draping at the waist – so slimming!
