Last week while in LA, I had a chance to meet up with a few of my favorite Cali-based brands and designers to check out what’s going on with them for spring. I wanted to share a few favorites from each!
- My first stop was to see Clare Vivier at her studio in Silver Lake. I’ve been a longtime fan of her chic, streamlined handbag designs – I already own two of her clutches that I wear constantly. It was so fun getting to meet her, as I’ve actually been in contact with her for several years over email, but never had the opportunity to meet face to face! Her spring ’15 collection is something you’ll go gaga over – more witty French quips, seersucker stripes and lots more polka dots. The collection is not available online yet, but you can see a couple of my faves here! From her current collection, I’m loving the flat clutch in the grey/creme jaguar print, this neutral Sandrine tote, and this adorable fanny pack. I’ll let you know when the spring collection launches – there are so many pieces to love!
- Next up, I stopped in at Heidi Merrick‘s studio in downtown LA. Her collections embody all that is the California cool chick. Think simple, streamlined striped tees and dresses, flowing gauze maxis and classic camel coats. Effortless. Not only are her pieces amazing, but she’s hilarious and so personable. We chatted about her neighborhood and how she lives on the same street as the bands GroupLove and Fitz & The Tantrums – how cool is that?!
- Last but not least, I stopped by The Dreslyn‘s headquarters, also downtown. If you’ve ever checked out their site, you’ll know they also have the LA look perfected. They carry elevated but edgy brands, like IRO, One Teaspoon, Band of Outsiders and more. A few pieces I have in my cart at the moment include these Illesteva sunnies, this little white lace dress and this amazing tassel necklace. This stunning black trench is also worth a look! PS – for those of you based in Los Angeles, The Dreslyn is having their Warehouse Sale this week!! Enjoy up to 80% off this Thursday and Friday (10am-6pm). Just head over to 721 Los Angeles Street in LA! I’m pretty depressed I won’t be there for it.
