Ah, yes – Friday! Looking forward to a weekend of relaxing + catching up with friends before I head off to New York next week for fashion week. Also can’t wait to celebrate my friend Megan’s birthday on Saturday! It’ll be nice to see everyone before I leave, especially since I’ve been holed up at my house the last couple weeks with a rude cold. I still don’t know whether it was a sinus infection, the flu or just a really bad head cold, but it clung to me for two whole weeks! I hate to say that I gave whatever illness it was to my buddy Mara when I was visiting her in LA (sorry friend)! Anyway, I’ve just been feeling a bit blah recently. It made me not wanna get out of bed, let alone work out or look presentable!
To make myself feel better, I decided to do a bit of online shopping (naturally) in preparation for fashion week. As I mentioned in this week’s EDIT, I picked up a few new coats from ASOS! This red one is one of my faves. It’s just the cheerful shade I needed to brighten up my day when I wasn’t feeling so hot last week. ASOS has the BEST selection of coats on the cheap. A few more I’m tempted to pick up: this pale blue trapeze coat, this beige duster and this check-print coat. Also, since we’re already looking through ASOS, there are a few other items on my wish list for spring! I’m craving this sleek nude sheath, this linen pencil skirt and this cool metal-hinge clutch. Oh, and don’t miss these pearl-embellished sandals!

Love the coat!! I was just thinking this morning that I am going to be sad when winter is over. I love getting to layer things on because it gives more variety/interest to an outfit. To me, summer looks are more basic just because you can’t wear as much!
