leather & lace March 20, 2015Dallas I originally picked out this luscious lace dress (similar style under $150) for a wedding this summer, but seeing as I have no sense of delayed gratification, I couldn’t wait one more second to wear it. It’s the perfect shade of blush pink, and the fit-and-flare silhouette is right up my alley. While I’ll probably wear this dress with gold sandals and a sleek matching clutch for those upcoming nuptials, I’m pairing with my favorite faux-leather jacket while the weather is still pretty mild. You may think black is too much of a contrast with this pale pink hue, but I think it’s just right! The black leather offsets the super-feminine vibes of the dress with a bit of edge. Wearing a light jacket like this one (or this one – both are under $100!) is how I’m able to transform even my most summery of dresses into a cool transitional look for spring. Since the delicate lace and leather already showcase some strong textures, I like to keep my accessories simple. A good pair of black strappy sandals are a great investment to make this year. Almost every shoe designer has some variation of this sexy shoe, so there are a ton of styles and price options to choose from! Sandals like these (lower heel option here) are a great way to elongate those legs and they literally go with everything in the warmer months. Also, I didn’t realize how much my wardrobe needed a subtle black clutch until I bought this one in December! It’s been in constant rotation and has been my number one choice for nights out lately. Best part? This clutch also comes with a strap to convert it into a cross body style. Yes, please!
