Happy Monday! After a VERY fun weekend in Nashville, I’m back in Dallas! I know I say this a lot, but I’ll only be here for a few days before jetting off again on Friday. Can you believe Memorial Day is this weekend? This year is just flying by!

My memorial day weekend plans are a little less party and a little more relaxed than usual. My sister and I are flying out to Carmel, California to meet up with my mom and stepdad for a chill weekend in their favorite spot. I’m excited to make the drive to Big Sur for the first time (I didn’t get to see it on my last trip!), take walks along the beach, and catch up with my favorite ladies (and gent) over delicious meals.

With all this flying I’m doing this summer, I’m giving my reading list a reboot. It’s been several months since I’ve read a book cover to cover. I just haven’t had the energy or time to devote to it lately! It’s my favorite thing to do on vacation, but I should also make an effort to read more throughout the year. I bought two new books at the airport yesterday (didn’t bring my kindle) and can’t wait to delve into both!

I started All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr on the plane and I’m loving it already. Human behavior and history are two of my favorite subjects to study/read about, so when I read the synopsis on this book I had to grab it. It’s a novel written from the perspective of two young adults on very different sides of the Nazi occupation in France during World War II. The second book I purchased is Mean Streak, by Sandra Brown. I love a good suspense story (Law & Order, anyone?!?!), and even though there are hints of romance in this book, I think I’m still going to love it. What books are you guys reading right now? I’d love some more suggestions before I leave for London this July!
