While shopping in New York a few weeks back, I specifically told my friend Patti not to let me buy a handbag on this trip. Even though I’ve had a need for a blush bag this season, I was planning to hold off since I’ve already spent quite a bit on travel this spring. That was the plan, at least until the last day of my trip, when I was left unsupervised at Barney’s.

Patti was at work, and I was in between meetings, so I stopped in for a moment to quickly peruse their selection. Leave it to me to locate the perfect blush bag for spring and summer in just five minutes flat! Even better, this bag is going to be a staple in my wardrobe for Europe this fall.

This cross body style is very light and fits all the essentials: iPhone, passport, wallet, and lip gloss (duh). You can even remove the long strap to make this bag a clutch, as I’ve done here! While still an investment, this bag was a lot less expensive than the other blush handbags I was considering – this one and this one, for example. So that’s something, right?

Finally, I love that this bag isn’t easily recognized – no giant logo, no trendy silhouette. The style is a simpler, more understated look. I’m getting a little weary of seeing the same bags everywhere (the “Drew”, the Sac de Jour), so I wanted to buy something more timeless. The streamlined design and versatility gives me confidence I’ll have this bag for years to come!
