Favorite Summer Lip Colors | The Style Scribe

I realized it had been forever since I’ve done a beauty post, so today I thought I’d share my five favorite summer lip colors with you! I’m a hoarder when it comes to lipsticks and glosses, and constantly have about four or five different shades in my handbag. I generally stick to subtle looks for daytime and then switch it up to a bolder hue for a night out or special occasion. Here are my current favorites in my makeup bag!

Go To Nude

This is definitely the lipstick + gloss combo I sport most often. It’s easy and pretty with just a hint of color. My all-time favorite nude lipstick is the NARS Sheer Lipstick in Cruising. It’s practically a chapstick it’s so light, but it packs the perfect pop of pinky nude that I need. I usually top it with Triple X clear lipgloss, also by NARS, for a subtle sheen.

Watermelon Pink

This new shade has been on pretty constant rotation this summer. It’s shiny like a gloss, but the bright and bold watermelon-pink shade is what you want out of a lipstick. NARS really does have the best colors! This one is the Satin Lip Pencil in Luxembourg.

Soft Coral

Another great daytime look, this coral lip is soft and feminine without being cutesy. Just the right kind of color you can wear to the office all summer long. Start by applying MAC’s Cremesheen Lipstick in Ravishing, and then top with Laura Mercier’s Lip Glace in Nectar to achieve this look!

Orange / Red

Dark, rich reds just seem so much more fall/winter-ish to me, so when I’m craving a red look for summer, I opt for a more orange-red shade. This lipstick is one I’ve had for years and can be found in pretty much any drugstore. Revlon’s Hot Coral is a must-have!

Pale Pastel Pink

Another great option for daytime or a more subtle nighttime look, this creamy pastel pink looks great on tan skin and fair skin alike. I’m not a fan of super powdery pink (it just looks chalky and fake to me), but when you enhance your own natural lip tint with just a touch of color and semi-sheer gloss, you can achieve the perfect pale pink pout. Revlon Matte Lipstick in Sky Pink + Laura Mercier Lip Glace in Azalea are the ingredients for this beauty look.
