Awhile back I mentioned a need for a good pair of ankle boots. I already have these Newbury boots in both black and tan, but I really don’t have any other kind of fall short-style boot. The Newbury boots look amazing with jeans, but I feel they come up a little too high for donning with a dress. I wanted something that would look cute with jeans and dresses, and I finally located a pair I love!

This pair hits me right at the ankle – just tall enough to tuck in the bottom hem of my denim, but still an ankle style that looks very cool with casual dresses for more transitional ensembles. The heel on these is just a tad lower than the Newbury‘s too, which is really nice since I’ve been walking so much over here. The Chesney is an easy boot that is both comfortable and cutting edge. Another great pair by Cole Haan I found is the Hayes boot – it comes in black, olive, grey and a java suede and reminds me of Isabel Marant’s infamous Dicker boots (but at a much more reasonable price!).
