Rainy Day Meeting | The Style Scribe

Something I’ve learned since my leap across the pond is that black tights are worn year-round here. My first week in London (in July!) I saw three different women wearing black tights with everything from dresses to distressed jean shorts. I should also mention London ladies have a love for nude hosiery, which I just can’t comprehend. Hello, grandma!

Alas, I do understand why tights are worn year round. Since London is a coastal city, it’s prone to a lot of wind – even in the warmest months of summer it’s still pretty chilly. I did my best to wait until October to pull out my favorite opaque tights, but now I’m wearing them almost daily!

I specifically love pairing tights with my new over-the-knee boots and a simple dress – it’s an easy, understated look that’s chic and comfortable. I actually wore that exact combo yesterday while exploring Brighton! I’ve heard it’s been super cold in Paris as well, so I’ll definitely be packing these before I leave on Sunday. They’re a winter wardrobe essential!
