With last week being so crazy, I’m using this week to plan for the on-boarding of my Marketing Assistant (I found one!!) the first week of January. I didn’t want to just hire an intern that would leave me after a semester, so I’m hiring an actual employee – there’s a lot more that goes into it than you would think! In addition to doing interviews with over 20 applicants, I also had to find an attorney to help me with employment agreements, and hire an accountant specifically for my small business. On top of all that, I’ll be getting a checking account and credit card specifically for my blog, in addition to having to file a bunch of paperwork with the Texas Workforce Commission, filing tax returns quarterly, and more. Like I said, a lot more than I thought it would involve!

Although it’s a ton of extra work right at this particular moment, I’m really looking forward to having a right hand who can help me with everything I’m doing. While I’m sure I could have continued doing the blog on my own, I’m investing in my business with a new team member so I can focus on what’s most important to me: the content. I have so many ideas and goals for 2016, but without that extra set of hands I can’t get it all done and still keep up with everything else! A few things I’m looking forward to breaking out in 2016 include dabbling in video, adding more of my lifestyle to the site (recipes, entertaining, and more travel), and exclusive content via my social channels and newsletter.

With that said, if you have any comments, questions or ideas of what you’d like to see me do more of (or start doing!) on the blog, please email me! Thank you to all of you who follow along with me! Can’t wait to share more of what’s coming in the new year!
