Day one. The first day of 2016. A fresh start. While everyone has been talking New Year’s resolutions, I’ve been creating a plan for the blog this new year. Up until this January (year five – can you believe it?!), I’ve kind of just flown by the seat of my pants when it came to the blog. I’ve never really given myself goals, written down a plan, or given the business side a whole lot of thought – it’s always been something fun that I was able to turn into a full-time job. And I know what you’re thinking – blogging? A job? I mean, it’s pretty hard to say that – I LOVE what I do. It definitely doesn’t seem like a job, but it’s a hell of a lot of work, even though it’s not a typical 9-to-5.
2016 will be different. Nearing the end of 2015, I decided to hire my first employee. She starts on Tuesday and I couldn’t be more excited! In preparing for her start date, I decided it was time to sit down and really think about where I wanted this blog to go and what goals I hope to achieve (with her help!). This is the first time since the start of this blog (January 2011), that I’ve created a business and marketing plan for The Style Scribe. I’ve always had big ideas for it, but now that I’ve written them down and will have a second pair of hands to assist me, I believe I can actually achieve those dreams.
Instead of making resolutions for the new year, I’m making plans… BIG ones. I hope you’ll continue to follow along with me on this journey! It’s been such a fun one and I’m thrilled to share more with you. Stay tuned and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
