Trend To Try // Chokers | The Style Scribe

I’m not one to buy into every trend, but one current theme running rampant right now is that of chokers. I hated middle school, but I did NOT hate chokers. If you grew up in the 90’s like I did, chances are you wore one at least once in your life. In fact, a few months back I was going through some old photos from summer camp (holla to my Mystic girls!), and discovered a photo from 8th grade and guess what I’m sporting… A CHOKER.

Chokers have been slowly creeping into my boards on Pinterest and I have to say, I’m loving the look. I’m not a fan of anything bulky, but when you pair a thin, simple black choker with other sleek basics like a white button-down and skinny jeans, it looks incredibly cool. It’s a good transitional look too – I’m going to try the trend next week in New York, where it’s going to be pretty chilly. I’ll be wearing a lot of sweaters and blazers, and a choker will be the sleek, chic topper for several of my outfits!

It’s an easy and inexpensive way to add a little edge to your go-to, everyday looks. I just ordered a few chokers and I wanted to share them with y’all, so you can try the trend with me! My favorites are this skinny string choker (tie into a bow!), this simple velvet choker, this throwback tattoo choker, and this leather + stone choker. On the more expensive end, try this gold ‘Simple Stripe’ choker – so pretty!
