I really do love Dallas, but something the city lacks is interesting backdrops for photos. I know how ridiculous I sound. First world problems, right? Yes, there’s the Design District and Deep Ellum with painted brick walls, and Highland Park with it’s gorgeous, manicured lawns, but I wish there was a bit more character to the buildings here in the big D. There’s something so charming and warm about old architecture, don’t you think?
On my last trip into Burton, my stepdad was very generous and let my mom and I borrow this 1936 Chevy Cabriolet to shoot with. Isn’t it adorable?! It’s actually a HUGE car. I was terrified driving around in it, due to it not having any seatbelts, but it sure is cute in photos! As you probably discovered in my Burton City Guide, this area has a bunch of delightful old buildings to shoot in front of, so I took advantage. I’m sad I didn’t have any other outfits to shoot, because the entire town is precious! Where are you guys from? Does your town have small town charm like Burton?
You’ve probably seen this Caroline Constas Lou off the shoulder top a number of times if you follow me on SnapChat – even if you don’t, you’ve seen it here. Not sure if I should even admit this, but I wear this top probably once each week. It’s such a versatile, effortless piece – perfect for first-date drinks or dinners, casual outings with the girls, or for an everyday chic outfit. While I was in New York last week, I happened up on this exact same top in a black + white stripe combo at Bergdorf Goodman. I found out it was an exclusive to the store and decided it was worth having another of the same top. I wear the white one so much, it couldn’t hurt. Like they always say… if the shoe fits, buy it in every color!
Top: Caroline Constas (nearly sold out – similar here and here), Jeans: J BRAND (old – similar here), Bag: c/o Kayu Design, Boots: Rag & Bone, Sunglasses: Karen Walker, Diamond Earrings
Love this all white look, this top is gorgeous!

Gorgeous outfit and totally get you on backdrops — first world problems indeed but my suburban city is the same thing over and over. LOVE your stepdad’s car. And silly question: do you have any issues keeping off the shoulder shirts like this down? Mine constantly want to ride up. :(

I know what you mean about Dallas. I’m now in Little Elm and unless I want cow manure in the background, my options are limited for close, quick backdrops. Cute little town you captured and digging the ride! Love the off-the-shoulder top.

these photos are darling! I love that top and the all white ensemble. I live in a small town and we are busy with both human & fury kids so most of my photos are in front of the garage door. Once in a while, when hubby and I are on vaca, I get some cool city pics:)
