Ever since I was a little girl I’ve had a serious love for travel. I was lucky to have parents who also loved to see the world and would take me and my sister along with them on many of their excursions growing up. One of my favorite trips to date was to Italy with my mom. It was her graduation gift to me, as I had just finished my last classes at SMU while abroad at the SMU-In-Oxford program.
I met her over in Venice, then we went on to Positano, drove to Pompeii, and finally ended our adventure in Rome. It was my first time in Italy and it quickly became one of my all-time favorite countries to visit. Each city is so unique and has different things to offer! In Venice you’ve got the gondolas, glass-blowing, and impressive historic sites like Piazza San Marco and Saint Mark’s Basilica. On the Amalfi coast you’ve got breathtaking views of the colorful beach towns and the ocean, amazing food and all the Limoncello you could ever dream of. In Rome there’s the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and the Roman Forum – a history buff’s crown jewel of a city.
I’m dying to go back to Italy, but Greece is actually the next country on my must-see list. Going to the Greek Isles has been a dream of mine for a long time, but because there are so many destinations to visit within this one country, it’s hard to plan the right itinerary without throwing your budget out the window! I found out that Celebrity Cruises has a cruise specifically for Greece AND Italy and think it’s the perfect way to get everything I want out of a trip. I’d get to visit all the places on my bucket list this year in one fell swoop, all while enjoying the convenience of a planned itinerary. Starting at only $1,029 for a 10 night cruise, it’s an amazing price considering what you’d have to pay for hotels and flights to each separate city if you did it any other way.
On this cruise, you’d get to see the important historical monuments and sites in Rome and Athens, but also get to relax and unwind in beautiful towns like Mykonos and Naples. On Celebrity Cruises you’ve got all the modern luxuries and conveniences like high-speed internet access, amazing shore excursions tailored to your interests, shopping, and specialty restaurants with expertly crafted menus by Celebrity’s Michelin-starred chef aboard the ship, and more. If you’re a wine lover like me, you should know they have over 500 wines on board, which is the largest collection at sea! You also can’t miss the Canyon Ranch SpaClub.
If you’ve been to www.celebritycruises.com lately, you already know that Celebrity Cruises is making it easier than ever to visit Europe. Think air, transfers, cruise, and onboard perks, all bundled into one simple phone call to 1-800-437-3111 or call your travel agent. Then? Just call, pack, and go.

Italy is incredible! Next time you go, I highly recommend spending a few days traveling through Tuscany visiting the small villages. They are simple, stunning, and the food is incredible. If you are into wine, booking a few tastings is a must.
This cruise sounds amazing! Just a heads up, Naples is a little rough…BUT You totally had me at the spa & extensive wine selection on the ship:)

I am a huge fan of cruises for all of the reasons you identified! I’m dying to do a long Baltic cruise to visit Finland and Russia.

I’m dying to go to Greece! And Italy sounds equally amazing. I never considered a cruise before. I always think of cruises as a Caribbean thing lol! But it makes perfect sense and certainly is ideal if you’re trying to stick to a budget!
