Today I’m off to Seattle with my intern Allison! It’ll be my first time in the Emerald City, so I’m looking forward to exploring it over the next four days. If you have any recommendations on things to see, eat or do, let me know!
Because I’ll be traveling for the next 14 days (Seattle first, then Alaska!), packing took a bit of thought – especially considering the climate up there. I’m expecting some chilly temps and perhaps some rain in Alaska, but Seattle is supposed to be sunny and mild all week. Needless to say, I had to pack a variety. Here are a few new items that made it into my suitcase:
- This simple striped dress to wear with my jean jacket and lace-up flats.
- This lightweight black sweater.
- I bought this easy tunic in two shades – thought it would layer well with my leather jacket and scarves!
- This super soft Rails shirt will fit right in up in Alaska.
Luckily the pieces I bought were all inexpensive!
Sounds like such a great trip, I have always wanted to go to Alaska, it is supposed to be beautiful! I can’t wait to see your photos once your return.

Exploring a new city sounds like so much fun! I hope you two have a blast. When I hear Seattle, all I can think about is Grey’s Anatomy! Netflix binge heaven.
