Juneau, Alaska | The Style Scribe

We had the most MAGICAL day in Juneau. The weather was fabulous and warm, so we took the tram up to the top of the mountain to get views of Mount Roberts, etc. It was breathtaking! Since I’m scared of heights, the tram itself was not my favorite, but it was a pretty quick ride and the photos I took made it worth the journey!

Where To Eat

Tracy’s King Crab Shack – I cracked my first King Crab leg here and it was worth the effort (it’s not easy). The crab is right off the boat and so, so fresh. It’s a cute little spot right on the water and nearly always has a line, but it’s worth the wait! So delicious.

Alaskan Crepe Escape – After dinner at Tracy’s King Crab Shack, we walked over to this little food truck for a dessert before hopping back on the ship. In addition to the creative sweet crepes on the menu, there are a bunch of savory options as well. If you’ve got someone in your group who doesn’t love seafood, take them here! I ordered the Monkey Business crepe, which featured Nutella, bananas and peanut butter. It was insane!

Things To Do

Mount Roberts Tramway – I’m a bit of a wuss when it comes to heights, but I’m so glad I sucked it up the day we were in Juneau! If you take the tram up the mountain, you’ll find numerous walking trails with incredible views at the top! Because it was such a beautiful day, we got some amazing photos. Most of the pictures above were taken up on the mountain! Highly recommend doing this if the weather is nice.

Mendenhall Glacier – if you’ve never been to Alaska, this is a stop you need to make while you’re in Juneau. There are excursions you can take via Helicopter to walk around on the glacier (learn more about that on your cruise!), or you can just take one of the many charter buses that go every 20-30 minutes from the parking lot under the tramway. Once you get there, you have two options. There’s an easy nature hike that’s about a 45-minute round trip to get a better viewpoint, or you can just walk up to one of a few viewpoints near the visitor’s center. It’s an easy trip to make if you don’t have a lot of time!

Celebrity Cruises had dozens of awesome shore excursions to choose from as well, like kayaking, whale watching, floater plane views and more!
