Deep Ellum Nights | The Style Scribe

One of my favorite things to do on the weekend is grab dinner and drinks down in Deep Ellum. This area of Dallas has so much character – from street art to live music, it’s definitely got the coolest vibe in town! Instead of just telling you about my outfit today (how pretty is this top though?!?), I thought it might be fun to share a few of my favorite spots to eat, drink and be merry in Deep Ellum!

FOOD //

Cane Rosso – in my opinion, this is the best pizza in Dallas! If the weather is nice, ask to be seated on the back patio. Be sure to order the Honey Bastard pizza – it’s an off-the-menu item, but it’s the best one they’ve got!

Pecan Lodge – if you have a hankering for BBQ, this is the spot to get it. It’s always pretty busy, so order ahead to pick up or be prepared to wait!

Monkey King Noodle Co – hop on over to this spot for a casual BYOB dinner, or grab it for takeout! The dumplings and noodles are on point at this Chinese joint.

BARS //

High & Tight – for more of a relaxed, speakeasy vibe, head over to High & Tight. The front of the place is a Barbershop, so don’t be confused. The Barbershop is legit and open all day, but at 10pm, a bouncer appears at the front door to check ID’s. Once you’ve walked past all the Barber chairs, there’s a door you go through to get to the bar. They often have live music and a great cocktail menu that looks like an old newspaper.

Truth & Alibi – similar to High & Tight, when you walk past this place on the street during the day, you would believe it was a candy shop. That’s what the storefront looks like! But after 10pm, you’ll see one lone bouncer and usually a line of people hoping to get in. Once the bouncer let’s you through the hidden door in the candy shop, you walk right into a club! It’s so much fun and the DJ always plays great music. Definitely a night for dancing with your girlfriends!

Double Wide – your not-so-typical neighborhood bar… this kitschy spot features live music, tornado footage, trailer park decor, and some very strong drinks.
