If you remember, one of my all-time favorite pieces I own is a one-shoulder peach number by Chloe I picked up in Paris several years ago. I’ve worn it to countless weddings and my love for it has not tired, even to this day! I obviously have a soft spot for it because it’s a special memory from my trip, but also because it truly is fabulous. The silhouette, the color, the ruffle detail, the pockets!!! There’s nothing about it I don’t like. With that in mind, I wanted to find a new cocktail dress for this spring/summer season for weddings or parties that might come up. Because I’ve relied on the one-shoulder Chloe dress for so many occasions, I wanted to located a similar style in a different color that I knew I’d reach for just as much.

While perusing the Shopbop sale a few weeks ago, I saw this bright purple number by Black Halo and thought I’d give it a try. I’ve never owned anything by the brand, so I wasn’t sure what size I’d be. I ended up ordering both a 4 and a 6, and the 4 ended up being the perfect fit! It’s got the same flattering neckline (one shoulder + ruffle), a cinched waist, loose in the hips, and has pockets! I don’t own anything purple oddly enough, but I just adore this color, don’t you? While it’s certainly ideal for any cocktail party scenario, I feel like I could easily dress it down with flat sandals for date night dinner or going out with my girlfriends.

The best part about this dress? It’s a fraction of the cost of the Chloe piece. It’s still not cheap by any means, but I feel like under $350 is a pretty great price on such a beautiful dress.
