This may seem silly, but I try to wait until it’s summer before wearing my espadrilles. They just feel like a true summer shoe and not really a transitional piece to me. Does anyone else feel that way? We’ve had some unseasonably cool weather this spring, which is why I’ve held off on pulling these Chanel espadrilles out until now. For those of you who weren’t following along then or need a refresher, my sister gave me this black Chanel leather espadrilles for my birthday last year! For those of you who were following on SnapChat then, you may remember the crazy story that ensued when I had to exchange them for a different size? By the time I finally got the right pair, it was already August and nearing the end of summer. I didn’t get to wear them all that much before trading my summer shoes in for more transitional fall styles! So pulling them out this season was sort of like picking up a brand new pair – they’re barely worn, so it’s like I just bought them.
Flat espadrilles like these are such a great summer staple for everyday wear. The leather gives the shoe a more elevated look, but the silhouette is so comfortable for walking around all day long. While I totally think investing in a Chanel pair is worth it (Nordstrom has an amazing selection!), here are some other gorgeous flat espadrilles to check out at other price points:
- For a similar black leather look under $100, try these Soludos espadrilles.
- You can’t buy Chanel shoes online, but you can buy this similar pair by Gucci or this pair by Saint Laurent!
- Loving the patent cap toe on this solid black style! Simple and chic. They also come in this dreamy cream leather.
- These Sam Edelman espadrilles are $90 and have a streamlined, sneaker look to them. The ideal summer slip-on!
- These Mercedes Castillo espadrilles are sort of outrageous, but I love them! They also come in this pale pink slide version. To die for!
- The pointy toe and ankle strap lend a feminine touch to this pair by Paul Andrew. Here’s a similar pair under $80!
- These perforated espadrilles are so breathable and will keep your feet cool all summer long.

Love these espadrilles! So classic and versatile! And I’m right there with you. I think espadrilles are strictly summer as well. I won’t be pulling mine out until June since it doesn’t really get hot here in NY until then. (I was in Dallas the other week and I hear you on the unseasonably cool weather! I was surprised by the temps when I exited the airport. But by the next day, it was in the eighties. Crazy weather!)

Every time I got into Saks I just drool over the Chanel espadrilles. I haven’t been able to justify them price point wise but they’re SO good. Those YSL’s are such a good option as well. Beautiful, classic look Merritt!

Totally in love with this post because I realized I LOVE lavender and various shades of pink and yet somehow don’t have enough of these colors in my closet. Whenever I wear them It makes me so happy… perhaps princess like. ;) Disappointed a few of the dresses are already sold out.
