Where To Find The Best Margaritas in Dallas | The Style Scribe

If you live in Dallas, you’ll know the temps have been rising pretty consistently over the last few weeks. We had a pretty mild spring, but the heat is now here to stay for summer! The only thing I’ve found to cure the unbearable heat waves in Texas (aside from a cannonball into a cold pool) is with an ice cold margarita. I know I’ve mentioned this to you already, but tequila has become my liquor of choice and it is especially satisfying when it’s hot out. I’ve been in Dallas for over ten years now (crazy!) and have tasted my fair share of the margarita concoctions around town, so I thought it would be fun to share my top five places to grab a cool one:

EL BOLERO // This restaurant (featured in the photos!) is the newest on the list, but it’s one of the recent upgrades made to the Design District and everyone’s talking about it! Not only are the food and drinks divine, but the interior and outside patio is definitely Design District worthy, with colorful chairs, tiled floors and perfectly festive accents throughout. If you plan to order a margarita here, make it the Blackberry Tequila Punch, featuring agave, blackberry, jalapeno, lime and tequila. The spicy kick from the jalapeno is subdued by the fruitier flavors. So delicious! The other cocktail featured in these photos is The Oilman, their signature black margarita featuring fresh lime juice, agave, cointreau noir, gold flakes and gold kosher salt!

JAVIER’S // If you’re looking for something a tad more upscale, make a reservation for dinner at Javier’s. This spot is a favorite of locals and out-of-towners alike! With great food, a fun atmosphere and a crowded cigar bar for after dinner drinks, it’s a must-visit if you’re new to the area or just visiting. I always order the Filete Cantinflas for dinner – trust me, it’ll change your life! As far as margaritas go, my go-to is just their plain skinny margarita on the rocks. It’s simple, clean and not very sweet!

MI COCINA // For the best frozen margs in the city, you have to order a Mambo Taxi (or the Limousine for an upgrade) at Mi Cocina. This cult favorite recipe features a deliciously thirst-quenching frozen margarita swirled with sangria for a pretty and powerful cocktail. I can only order one – it’s so strong!!

MESO MAYA // I’ve only been to this spot a few times, but it is insanely popular! It’s quite a large restaurant right off of Woodall Rogers Freeway (behind the Perot Museum), and the menu is pretty spectacular. There aren’t many places in Texas that feature my favorite Mexican app, Queso Fundido, but Meso Maya is one of them! Of all the restaurants featured here, Meso Maya also has the most extensive margarita menu – my favorite is the Serrano Berry, but I’ve heard great things about the Avocado marg and the Cucumber one too. Both sound so refreshing!

MR MESERO // My friends and I frequent Mr Mesero on McKinney all too often! It’s a neighborhood favorite and features the creamiest artichoke + spinach white queso, amazing fried fish tacos and great cocktails. Try the Meserita for your marg, made simply with herradura silver, cointreau and crisp citrus. So yum!

OK, now that you’ve gotten my list of the best margaritas in Dallas, let’s talk about my outfit. How darling is this embroidered top from kate spade new york?! I love how simple and airy the silhouette is for everyday wear, while the embroidery lends just the right pop of color and interest to add some excitement. This is a top I will absolutely reach for all summer, pairing it with jean shorts, black skirts and white jeans! If you haven’t discovered kate spade new york’s summer collection, it is chock FULL of fabulous embroidery. Here are a few more of my favorites from the collection to shop this season:

  • If you prefer a simple black and white color palette, this little mini dress would be a super cute addition to your warm weather wardrobe.
  • If you’re still loving an off-the-shoulder silhouette, you’ll adore this top featuring the same embroidery as mine!
  • This striped sundress is the next piece on my list – I love the contrast the red embroidery gives to the look. It really pops!
  • The embroidery featured on my top also comes on this little number, this black shirtdress and these sandals too!
  • This lightweight jacket would look awesome over a white tank or teewhen traveling!
  • This bag really isn’t embroidered, but I’m obsessed with it and it’s definitely worth mentioning. The round handle is very on-trend and I love the colorful scarf tied into it!
