My trip to the Fairmont Mayakoba was just two weeks ago, but it seems like it’s been a lifetime already! In case you missed it, I traveled to the Riviera Maya for a few days with some blogger buddies to discover the resort and share our experience. We packed a ton of activities into just two full days, so I definitely got a fair share of content for ya!

I arrived late afternoon on Monday and was greeted with smiling faces and a delicious hibiscus tea before being guided to my villa! I just knew the second I got there that this was going to be a great trip. I had an entire waterfront villa to myself, which was a real treat! If you saw my snaps, you’ll know how nice the room was – they even had Le Labo products in the beautiful bathroom… my favorite! I only had about an hour to get unpacked and freshen up before dinner, but in that hour a little gift was delivered to my room – it featured fresh pineapple guacamole, chips and large bottle of local beer. Such a yummy surprise! I didn’t have time to eat it all before dinner, so I stored it in the mini fridge to snack on later.

For our first night at the Fairmont, we all met up in the lobby bar for apps and drinks so we had a chance to all meet or catch up with each other. It’s a gorgeous, open air bar (which you’ll see in an outfit post soon!), and the cheese tray and cocktails they made us were out of this world. The next morning I went on a little nature walk around the property with Jessica, Brooke and Alfonso (the nicest guy you’ll ever meet, who manages activities around the hotel!). Alfonso told us about the Mayan history with a bunch of the trees and plants, walked us through El Pueblito (more on that later) and we even walked down into an underground cave (also known as a cenote).

After our walk we met up with the rest of the group at breakfast down at the La Laguna Restaurant, which featured an extensive menu AND a massive breakfast buffet. The first breakfast I had was the granola parfait, next was scrambled egg whites + bacon, and on the last day I went all out with chocolate chip pancakes! They also had this delicious green juice – not sure if it even had veggies in it because it was so delicious and sweet, but whatever… just order it. After breakfast we had a couple hours to shoot outfits around the property and spend a little time by the pool or on the beach before lunch down at Las Brisas. This spot is right on the beach with great views from every point in the restaurant! We had lunch here both days, and it was absolutely lovely getting to sit outside with the breeze, enjoy the view and have some cocktails + fresh food.

After lunch we all got washed up and dressed to visit El Pueblito, the colorful little village on the Mayakoba property. This adorable spot features a beautiful Catholic chapel, a shop with local goodies and great souvenirs (I bought some placemats for the new house!), and a couple little restaurants and bars! After shooting this outfit in El Pueblito, Jess and I walked into the bar with the bright Acapulco chairs for a fresh margarita. It was delightful! Following our visit to El Pueblito, we all went back down to a private room at Las Brisas for a local beer and mescal tasting! The best beer by far was the Cerveza Pescadores Habanero Ale – it had a real kick, but it was SO tasty. If I can figure out a way to get it here, I’m definitely going to get some. I do not recall the name of my favorite mescal, but they were all pretty good – I love tequila, so I had no problem sipping them down.

The next morning I woke up and begrudgingly did my BBG workout, and was very impressed with the fitness center in the spa building! There’s a larger room featuring a bunch of cardio and weight machines, but also a smaller room for things like yoga, pilates, and body-resistance workouts. I used the private space to do my BBG and they had everything I needed. It’s always nice to stay somewhere that’s got a fully stocked gym! You wouldn’t believe how many times I’ve stayed at amazing hotels whose fitness centers are ill-equipped.

After my workout I showered and got ready for breakfast again at La Laguna, followed by a boat tour through the canals around the property. It was neat to see more of the area, in addition to some pretty killer private mansions along one of the canals. The hotel treated us to some fresh coconuts to sip on during our ride, which obviously turned into a photoshoot opportunity! More on that in another outfit post…

After the boat ride, we were off to the spa for an hour-long massage – I told y’all, we had something planned every moment of our stay! The facility was very nice, the staff super friendly, and the treatment was just what I needed after months of BBG and Flywheel workouts. After the spa we had a late lunch again at Las Brisas before having another couple hours to shoot before dinner. Our final dinner was held at El Puerto, the restaurant on the floor below the lobby bar. The menu was Asian-Mexican fusion and we tried just about every app! I ordered the miso glazed cod for dinner (my fave!) and we enjoyed local candies and treats for dessert. After dinner it was off to my room to pack for our early departure for the airport the next morning.

Like I said before, it was a super quick trip! I loved every second of the trip and just wished it could’ve lasted longer. I guess I’ll just have to plan a trip back soon! Thank you to the Fairmont Mayakoba for being such great hosts and treating us with such a lovely stay!! Click here to learn more about the resort and to book your stay!
