It’s finally here! The sale we’ve ALL been waiting for. Early Access for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale launched last night at midnight (PST), so I stayed up and jumped right in to discover all the best style steals, beauty deals, designer finds and more! In addition to the roundups I’ll be doing on my blog in collages and outfit posts, I’ll also be adding hundreds of finds to THE SHOP in the brand new ANNIVERSARY SALE tab! For today’s roundup I thought I’d stick with classic wardrobe staples, fall favorites, and beauty exclusives that’ll sell out fast. You won’t want to wait to shop and there’s quite a lot to comb through, so let my guide get you there faster!
THE CATEGORIES THAT WILL SELL OUT QUICKLY:
{ FALL FAVORITES }
This is the only sale out there that sells new fall merchandise already marked down! Stock up on pricier items like heavy coats, luxurious sweaters and high-quality boots for the upcoming season. Here’s a mash-up of my favorites in every fall/winter category:
Sweaters – there are so many on-trend styles this season that are marked down! I’m really excited about this new take on the bell-sleeve look (under $60), this cozy cashmere cardigan, and this knot-front turtleneck.
Boots – one thing I dread spending money on (but know I need to if I want a good style) is a nice pair of boots. The Nordstrom Sale is the perfect time to invest in your pair for the season! I found a nearly identical pair to the must-have ACNE boots I got last fall for a fraction of the price. I also found this pretty pair of cognac boots that’ll add some color to your fall/winter shoe collection! They also look super comfy. If you’re searching for a good OTK boot, my vote is for this pair that’s under $130!
Leather Pants – another item I always end up buying during the Nordstrom sale is a sleek pair of leather pants. Who wants to pay full price on anything, less alone something that expensive? I wear leather pants all fall/winter long with oversized sweaters, boots, capes, you name it. They’re surprisingly versatile and are way easier to dress up than a pair of blue jeans! This season I’m loving this pair and this budget-friendly alternative. Speaking of capes, I found this one which looks practically identical to the Karen Millen cape I found in London a few years ago. Such a gem!
Coats – I know it seems hard to fathom you’ll be needing a coat soon since it’s 100 degrees in Texas this week, but winter will be here before you know it! A nice coat can cost a pretty penny, so buy it early and save your money. I love the flattering, classic look of this black belted coat don’t you? Very chic. I’m also loving this military style and this simple grey coat!
{ CLASSIC WARDROBE STAPLES }
Whether you need something to wear at the office, on a trip or just around the house, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the perfect time to snag everyday staples you’ll wear year after year. Timeless classics like trench coats, designer denim and chic shoes are just a few things you’ll find in this year’s sale – here are my favorite classic wardrobe staples that are part of Early Access:
Thongs – I swear by these! I probably own every color now. They’re so comfortable and flattering! Definitely worth stocking up on these during the sale, especially since they’re down to $14 from $20 each.
Leather Jackets – somehow I always manage to bring my leather jacket with me when I travel. It doesn’t matter how hot I think a destination will be, I always require a layer (just in case)! I find a good black leather jacket to be the most versatile year round, and I found several new styles on sale that are worth a look: check out this Halogen jacket, this Mackage moto and this under $100 faux leather jacket.
Denim – you can never have too many quality pairs of jeans, am I right? This black high-waist pair has a really cool unfinished + angled hem that would add some edge to your wardrobe. I’m also loving this crop-flare style this year! Or you could always go classic skinny in this black pair or this dark blue pair (under $100!).
Flats – there are SO many cute flats in the sale this year! Whether you’re looking for a good slip-on sneaker for wearing to and from workouts and errands, or a chic pair for work, Nordstrom’s got you covered. Definitely be sure to check out this pair and this pair too!
Totes – it seems I’m always on the hunt for a new tote bag, mostly because good styles are so hard to find! I want something classic and timeless, but also something fresh and unique. Tote bags are the ultimate wardrobe staple – they do triple duty at work, play and when traveling! Nordstrom has a bunch on sale this year (like this burgundy tote under $50!!), but this Rebecca Minkoff style and this All Saints tote are my picks.
Tees – maybe it’s because I work from home, but I find myself in a tee + jeans combo more often than not these days. Whether it’s a trendy twist-front style or a more basic layering piece like this, they always come in handy and are wearable all year long! I just added this slouchy + soft off-shoulder tee to my cart.
{ BEAUTY EXCLUSIVES }
The category that I’d say sells the most quickly is definitely the beauty exclusives! Not only are the items ridiculously great deals, but they also don’t require a size which means they make great gifts. People often use this sale to stock up on stocking stuffers and holiday gifts early! Kinda crazy, I’ll admit, but why not if it’s such a great deal? Here are the best beauty exclusives in the Anniversary Sale that you’ve gotta discover before checking out:
NeuLASH Set – I’ve said this every year for like four years now, but this serum is absolutely the best! It’s a legitimate miracle product. I apply NeuLASH every night to my lash line and have the longest, thickest lashes now. I swear I’m always getting compliments, on SnapChat and in real life! Totally worth the investment, especially when you can get a 2-for-1 set during the NSALE.
NARS Set – If you saw my Snaps about organizing my makeup drawers at the new house, you’ll know I’m a fiend when it comes to makeup palettes and sets. You may have also noticed my slight obsession with NARS. With the exception of my foundation and powder, nearly my entire makeup regimen is by NARS! This year Nordstrom is doing a coffret full of four mini NARS multiples that can be used on your cheeks, eyes, lips, wherever! With four different shades to choose from in this one set, your options are endless. Also… since I’m getting the multiple set, I might as well go ahead and grab this set of Velvet Matte Lip Pencils too. Couldn’t hurt!
La Mer Gift Set – Of all my skincare products, the brand that has lasted the longest and stuck with me over the years is La Mer. I’ve used the Moisturizing Gel Cream for over a decade now! I prefer the gel formula to the moisturizing cream because it is much lighter and silkier. It gives me all the moisture my dry skin needs without weighing down my skin or leaving a shiny residue! While my gel cream isn’t part of this particular gift set, I highly recommend La Mer products and can honestly say their products are worth every penny!
