If you’re new to my little corner on the internet, welcome! For those of you who don’t already know, I started a newsletter-exclusive last year entitled Beck and Call. This feature answers four real reader questions each week and features a variety of topics! Questions range from styling tips and finding budget-friendly alternatives to reader favorites, to my diet & fitness routine, skincare questions and even inquiries into the blogging world and my personal life outside of the blog. You can ask me anything! The Beck and Call newsletter is sent out every Sunday morning with a fresh batch of questions and answers. Click here to subscribe if you haven’t already!
Here are some examples of previous questions so you can get the idea:
- I’m at business school right now and we’re encouraged to wear business professional to class. Do you have any budget-friendly options/good investment pieces in mind? I’m struggling to put some outfits together and would love your opinion!
- How often do you recommend using face masks at home? Is 3-4x a week too much? What face masks do you recommend and what “regimen” tips would you recommend?
- What would you suggest packing for a few weeks abroad in the fall (50-75 degrees)? I’d love to only bring a carry-on if possible, so I’m looking for versatile pieces I can wear a few times before looking sloppy!
- Do you have any advice for someone who is going through a breakup? Especially for a long term relationship. I realize that’s a heavy topic, but any help is appreciated!
Lately I’ve received more and more questions focused on workwear, so I thought I’d touch on that in today’s blog post! While I definitely don’t have to get dressed up to go into an office every day, I do like to keep a few sophisticated styles on hand should any important meetings, conferences or other events pop up. One of the more recent pieces I’ve picked up is this linen utility dress! It also comes in this color, but I’m loving the perfect-for-fall color of the one I purchased. This particular shade is called “wine time”, and I wouldn’t have it any other way! The silhouette is elegant and appropriate for the office, and I love the flattering belted waist. It’s also the perfect fabric and weight for the hotter-than-hot temps we’ve been having here in Texas! I imagine it’ll still be quite useful over the next month and a half as the weather continues to fluctuate. It’s the ideal transitional style you can wear from work to wining and dining!
