This outfit could be considered boring to some, but I’ll tell you it’s one I wear and re-wear over and over again. Especially these days, when the holiday craze has me reaching for effortless basics and outfits I can quickly throw on and head out the door. In an effort to add more neutral sweaters to my wardrobe for fall/winter, I placed a pretty large order on Nordstrom about a month ago. Naturally, I only liked two sweaters enough to keep, but this is one of them. And it just so happens to be the least expensive one in the box! Now isn’t that a happy surprise?

The color is totally me – a perfectly beige/oatmeal shade that works with just about any other color I could pair it with. It’s subtle, simple and easy to wear. The hemline hits me at just the right spot for a tucked in look, and the crewneck neckline is flattering and work appropriate for those of you who have a typical 9-to-5. I’m very impressed with the quality of this sweater too! It is super soft and doesn’t stretch out or pull in any areas. It sold out over the weekend but has since come back in stock, so don’t wait to shop this gem of a sweater! It’s definitely one you’ll see me in over and over again this season.

Since I’ll be in NYC next week, I’ve been thinking about items that are missing or holes I’d like to plug in my wardrobe. These gold flats have been a wardrobe staple of mine ever since I purchased them in London three years ago – I recently had them re-soled at Deno’s and am so happy I can keep wearing them! I truly burned a hole right through the leather pad of the shoe, I wear them so much. With that said, I’d love to find a second pair of ballet flats that will be similarly useful and I can wear year-round. I’m thinking a good nude/beige flat would be a solid choice, but I’ve gotta see what’s available when I’m shopping around! I also wouldn’t mind getting a new pair of sunglasses and perhaps a bag if I’m feeling like treating myself… we’ll see!
