Since my trip to New York was SO last minute, I didn’t have time to shop or bring any major new pieces with me to shoot while in the city. I really hadn’t planned on shooting at all since it was such a short trip, but then on Thursday I just figured why not? New York provides the best backgrounds! I texted Becca to see if she’d be available for a quick shoot Friday – I hadn’t even figured out my outfits at that point… I just knew it would be a missed opportunity to not shoot while in the Big Apple! While I didn’t have a bunch of new outfits, I had purchased a couple new sweaters over the last few weeks that I brought with me. I just threw them together with some old favorites and there you go!
The first is this Phillip Lim sweater. At first glance, you may think it’s just a basic crewneck. Cozy, sure, but nothing special… right? Wrong. Take a look at those sleeves! I’m a sucker for anything pearl-adorned (remember last year’s sandal obsession?!), so naturally I fell hard for this sweater. I initially ordered it in this deep teal, which is SO pretty in person. I just realized I’d probably wear the grey more, so exchanged it for this one instead. When I say it’s cozy, I really mean it. Not scratchy at all – so soft! It’s pretty thick too, so it’s a great option for those of you in colder climates. I love the simple elegance of this sweater – pair it with your favorite slacks for the office, or wear out with jeans and boots on the weekend! Versatile and totally wearable. I can’t wait to transition it to spring with white jeans too! Love.

Love that sweater. You look gorgeous and you’re right, can’t pass up any chance you get to have NYC as a backdrop :) Have a great weekend!
