Marc Jacobs Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter | Best of Beauty[/halves]

In case you missed it, this past Saturday I did another Instagram Live! In my second live ever I did a “get ready with me” video, taking you through my current everyday makeup routine! I’ve done my makeup the same way for a decade, but every once in awhile I’ll add in something new that changes the game. Most recently, that was this gel highlighter by Marc Jacobs! I apply it as a makeup base before applying my foundation and concealer to give me a dewy, fresh look all day long. When applied alone it’s quite intense, which is why I make it the very bottom layer in my face makeup routine. Once I’ve applied the foundation, concealer, powder, bronzer and blush, all that’s left is a subtle, youthful glow. I love it!! It’s definitely going to be a staple for my routine going forward.

If you missed my Instagram Live, you can catch My Everyday Makeup Routine over on YouTube (it’s nearly identical to what I did on Saturday), and shop all of the products featured in my Live below! Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram so you don’t miss future stories or Live sessions!

FACE

Apply this gel highlighter directly to face and rub in until even and smooth. Next, apply this foundation (I use color vanille), followed by this concealer to cover up dark circles, spots or blemishes. I use this brush to apply my concealer! Grab this powder puff and apply translucent powder all over your face (including your eyes). Grab this bronzer and apply using this brush all over face. Finally, take this blush in Tropic Hues and dab onto the apples of your cheeks.

If you’re in need of some added color before a big date, event or trip, try these Alpha Beta Glow Pads! I wipe one all over my face, neck and décolletage the night before I want to be a bit more bronzed. I usually apply it and let it dry for a few minutes before applying moisturizer!

EYES

If you have blonde eyebrows like I do, grab an ashy-brown shadow (I use the color Bali) to fill in and define your brows with a brush like this. I’ve tried using pencils and getting my eyebrows dyed before, but nothing looks as natural as shadow.

For your eyes, grab a nice neutral base eyeshadow (my all-time favorite is NARS All About Eve, although I’ve been using a few different colors from my LORAC palette lately) and apply to upper lids with a soft brush. Grab a shimmery shadow to apply with your finger to your inner upper eyelid – I’m loving Urban Decay’s Sin at the moment… it’s a subtle, but sparkly pale pink! Next apply a very thin layer of liquid eyeliner to your top eyelid, right along the lash line. I prefer to use the color Alloy for daytime, because black can be too bold next to my fair skin – it’s a little too aggressive for me! The grey is really subtle and pretty – perfect for work!

As far as my lashes go, there are three products I use every day. The first is neuLASH, which I actually apply at night, so it’s not part of my actual makeup routine. I did want to mention it however, because I received SO many questions about it during the Live! It’s a miracle product that helps thicken and lengthen your lashes – I’ve used it for years. Definitely one of my best kept beauty secrets! For more info on that, you can check out this post! The two lash products I use in my actual makeup routine are this Givenchy base mascara and CoverGirl Clump Crusher on top. The base mascara adds grip and texture so your top coat of black mascara has something to hold onto. This base mascara instantly adds length and thickness to your lashes! Finally, apply the CoverGirl mascara in two coats, with about 30 seconds to dry in between each coat.

LIPS

I love lipstick, but for everyday I usually prefer to wear a semi-sheer gloss. My all-time favorite color is Chanel #119. It’s the prettiest rose pink with just a hint of sparkle!

PS – I had such a hard time photographing a close-up of my face to show you “the glow”. It’s so subtle, so it’s hard to see on camera! Plus, I tried to shoot this when it was raining outside, so the lack of natural light may have effected that. I love the results in real life though – I feel like it makes my makeup look fresh longer. At the end of the day, I still have a soft glow! It’s wonderful. Highly recommend!!
