One thing I was SUPER happy to snag during the big Shopbop sale two weeks ago was a new pair of white jeans. I have a favorite pair from several years ago, but I tried to order another of the same pair last year and they had changed the denim fabric! The original pair I have is thicker and less stretchy, which made them more opaque… whereas the newer pair had a lot more stretch and had a transparency to them. NOT a fan of that. Each year I find denim brands doing that more and more, and it really grinds my gears. It’s sort of like bathing suit bottoms getting smaller and smaller – I’m sorry, but not everyone wants less coverage. I definitely don’t! In any case, I returned that pair last year and have been on the hunt for a new pair since. This pair is the winner!! They’re pretty high-waisted, the back pockets are big (great for minimizing a booty!), and best of all they’re THICK. I ordered like six different styles during the sale, and these were the most flattering and felt like the best quality by a long shot.
Another item I purchased during the Shopbop sale is this beautiful coral blouse! The color is absolutely stunning in person, and I feel like the billowing sleeves speak for themselves. It also happened to match my Rebecca de Ravenel earrings from last year AND my Celine sunnies I purchased in December! A happy accident, if you ask me. It looks great with white jeans, but I think you could also tuck it into a skirt for a work, a luncheon or a bridal/baby shower. Such a gorgeous piece!
One last note on this outfit – remember these shoes? They are probably my all-time favorite pair of summer heels. They’re by Givenchy and I got them during a NET-A-PORTER sale maybe four years ago? I’ve worn them out!! They have been the most useful, comfortable, versatile shoe in my closet for this time of year. I’m obsessed with them! I’m desperate for a new new pair in a similar style, but I’ve noticed not many designers are making heeled sandals in this color right now aside from Stuart Weitzman and Alexandre Birman… bummer. I’m going to keep my eye out though, and will share any I find!
