I tend to buy a lot of black, but a color that’s making a big appearance in my wardrobe this fall/winter season is brown! It’s not a color I’ve really every worn, and I’m not sure why. It’s not that I don’t like it! I just always lean more towards black when I’m shopping, I guess. But being the neutral lover I am, I’m widening my horizons and adding some great brown basics to my closet. First up? These boots.

I bought this pair (now on sale!!!) from the same brand last year and wore them to death! They were so comfortable, flattering, and surprisingly versatile given they were off white (see a few outfits I wore with them here, here and here). I ended up getting them repaired/refreshed at Deno’s in Highland Park Village in the spring so I could wear them again this season… that’s how much I love them! Well, the brown boots are basically the exact same silhouette and heel height, so I figured they’d be just as comfortable and versatile as the white pair. I ordered them straight away! Once I slipped them on, I found the fit is pretty much an exact match to the other boots… so I was right!

Both boots ran big on me, and I kept a 9 in each. I normally wear a 9 1/2 in regular shoes and sometimes a 10 in boots, so buy accordingly! Anyway, I’m very excited about this new purchase. PS: I’ll be sharing a roundup of my favorite boots under $200 in a different outfit post next week, so stay tuned!
