THE BEST WORK TO WEEKEND STAPLES

a tailored blazer

Blazers are an absolute wardrobe essential in my book! They can be worn year-round and for a variety of occasions/functions. The styles I’ve used most have been in black, ivory or beige, but navy and grey are two other colors I’d recommend looking into. I personally prefer blazers that are long enough to cover my butt when I’m wearing pants or jeans. I think it’s wise to have a variety of silhouettes for different outfits: boyfriend/oversized, double breasted, slim + tailored, you name it. Avoid prints for the most versatile look!

Below are some of my favorite styles at the moment at a variety of price points – many are on sale, thanks to Memorial Day Weekend coming up:

a classic pair of pumps

Shoes are my kryptonite – I love having a variety of styles to play with! They can change the vibe of a look in an instant, so having stylish soles is key. The one pair of shoes that is the most versatile? The pump. Another year-round style, this shoe can be styled in a sophisticated way for the office with a pencil skirt and blouse, for church with a modest dress, or used to dress up a pair of distressed skinny jeans for brunch or date night. For the most leg-flattering shape, I suggest a pointy-toe pump with a stiletto heel.

Below are some great pump styles to peruse – most of the more expensive styles I linked are on sale right now!

a clean cami

While I love a good tee, a cami is a more elevated option that can transition effortlessly from desk to dinner. I have amassed quite the collection now, as I wear camis every week! I style them under trenches, blazers, moto jackets, jean jackets, cardigans… you name it, I’ve done it!

a versatile tote

Whether you have a short or long commute, or travel often for your job, a quality tote is probably something you need to get everything to and from. I don’t leave my house for my job anymore, but I LOVE a good tote and find them absolutely necessary when I travel. Stick with a neutral piece in black, beige or grey, ideally with textured leather to help the bag last longer (texture helps hide wear!).

Below are some amazing styles under $1000 to check out- many are on sale, and I’ve included a number of more budget-friendly options (under $150!) as well.

a solid shirtdress

It’s no secret I love a shirtdress! They’re such polished, effortless pieces that can be worn all kinds of places. Great for long travel days when you want to be comfortable but put together. Sophisticated and demure for the office and church. Easy to dress up and accessorize for date night dinner. The list goes on!
