With Texas vs OU this weekend here in Dallas, it will be my first football game of the season! I usually go to SMU tailgate, but don’t often go to the games themselves… bad I know. The weather is usually still pretty hot over TX/OU weekend, so I always opt for either a top and skirt combo or a lightweight dress. With that said, it’s looking like the forecast may actually be cooler this year – hallelujah! This dress is what I had planned to wear… but may have to figure something else out if the high actually is 65 on Saturday! Ulla Johnson is one of my favorite brands right now. I purchased this dress last year and have loved wearing it with everything from Golden Goose sneakers to heels.
Ulla Johnson’s spring/summer pieces are fabulous, but the fall/winter season is where she really shines. I love the rich colors and gold accents she incorporates into her autumn collections, don’t you? This dress is such a great transitional piece – it’s lightweight, long-sleeved, and something you can dress down with boots and up with heeled sandals. I do want to note that her pieces are a bit short-waisted. Her midi dresses look great on me, but the mini styles tend to run a bit shorter! I’m wearing a size 4 here. With the forecast being slightly up in the air, I may or may not actually wear this to the game. Either way, this dress is a gorgeous piece you can wear now and well into fall with added layers!
If you’re off to the Texas game this weekend (or other weekends coming up!), scroll down to shop even more burnt orange finds… This same print I’m wearing also comes in two top styles that I’ve linked below as well… so cute for styling with a skirt or denim!
This is a super cute outfit and definitely a chic game day outfit!

I really appreciate your most recent Beck and Call newsletter when you admitted loving camel but camel not being your best color for your skin tone. I have black-black hair But my skin tone doesn’t love camel or the other yellow-toned browns so no cognac either. :( It’s tricky being such a popular neutral color. It really helped seeing how you incorporated camel into wardrobe especially when it’s far from your face. Or when you use its sister color, taupe. Of course it’s wishful thinking if you featured more navy. Lol. It seems to have fallen out of favor with bloggers
I don’t even really enjoy football, but I’m always keeping an eye out for red clothes and accessories just in case I need to dress the part for my team. It’s a competitive sport in the South–dressing well for a game, that is.
I am looking for good purple shirts for TCU football games. Prefer longer because of my age.
Thanks
Sunday’s Beck & Call was absolutely on point w/ follower’s question re: burgundy dress- you gave her so many options. I can only imagine how much time/effort you put in to answering her question. Really well done.
