Last week I shared this lightweight short suit + a bunch of earthy neutrals I am loving from Amazon! Another piece I featured in that post was this drop-waist midi dress, that I received in the mail just a couple days later. Of everything I ordered, these were my two favorite looks I’m keeping! A black dress like this is a total statement staple – it’s neutral and easy to style with anything (such a great blank canvas!), but it features elegant details that make it anything but basic. It’s the ideal style for everyday wear for me – I am comfortable at my desk, but look also polished for my walks with Reeses and any errands I might have to run throughout the day. I love this silhouette so much I’m tempted to order it in this color too! It looks like the color of the short suit – a chic transitional neutral.
This dress is meant to fit loose, but because I’m busty and like more fitted bodices I went with a small. If I wanted a roomy fit up top I would size up to a medium! The small is still very roomy below the bust on me. I’ve worn it with and without a belt (see that here!) and it’s cute + comfy both ways! If you’re in the market for a versatile, comfortable wear-with-anything LBD, add this number to your shopping cart. For only $60, it is a budget-friendly beauty you won’t want to miss. Highly recommend! Now that I’ve had two successful purchases from Amazon’s clothing line, I’ll definitely be trying more styles! I’ll report back with my findings…
AN UPDATE ON THE FALL 2020 CAPSULE – COMING SOON!
PS: I’ve been working for the last week (including the weekend!) on finalizing the Fall 2020 Capsule Wardrobe! It’s the biggest one I’ve done yet, so it’s taking me longer to finish than I thought. I’m hoping to have it live by either the end of this week or early next, but just wanted to give you an update! I also want to mention that while it is going live around the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I purposefully did not include items from the sale in the capsule – #NSALE items sell out *so* quickly, and I like to include pieces from a variety of retailers. With that said, I will be featuring Anniversary Sale finds in the back of the capsule wardrobe in the “additional options” section, if that is where you are doing most of your shopping!
As always, these capsules are meant for you to use as inspiration – I never want you to feel obligated to shop or like you need anything I share on here or in these capsules! If you’re not shopping right now, I hope this capsule will inspire you to get more use out of the pieces already hanging in your closet. As with my past capsules, the Fall 2020 Capsule Wardrobe will feature a bunch of timeless staples many of us already own: solid t-shirts and sweaters, a cardigan, utility jacket, skinny jeans and the like. Nothing crazy or out of the ordinary that you can’t recreate using what you have! I’m so excited to share the capsule I put together for this season, but take a look at last year’s fall capsule for some early inspo – it is such an evergreen selection of pieces that I would absolutely wear year after year!
