In less than one week, Liza and I will be hitting the road to West Texas! We’ll be visiting The Local Chapter in Terlingua for a few days, followed by a night in Marfa before heading home. The drive is long, so if you have any good audiobook or Spotify playlist recommendations, we’ll take them! I visited Big Bend National Park in middle school, but haven’t visited West Texas since. I’m not sure what all will be open in the area, but we’ll also take restaurant recs and suggestions for things to do during the day!
I’m hoping we’ll be able to hike a little bit, so for daytime I’m planning to be in comfortable, casual clothes – most likely my Lululemon workout favorites, or a jean + tee combo with hiking boots. At night though, I plan on busting out some Western-inspired styles for fall! I’m not a huge follower of trends, but the Western theme you see across a lot of the fall collections will actually come in handy on this particular trip. It also works for ranch trips with the fam, so I see some of these items as useful purchases. A lot of my Western travel style inspo comes from Isabel Marant and her Etoile line, as well as Ulla Johnson, Sea, etc. I ordered a few of the pieces in this collage and more, so stay tuned to see what I ended up packing/wearing!
If you’re looking for more Western style inspo on a budget, don’t miss the additional picks below!
HOOP EARRINGS // SWEATER // SKINNY JEANS // PRINTED BLOUSE // BRACELET // ANKLE BOOTS // CHECK PRINT PONCHO // HENLEY // BELT // PRINTED DRESS // SUNGLASSES // WESTERN SUEDE BOOTS // HAT // HANDBAG
Headed to Terlingua, Marfa and Marathon also in little over a week. Love the outfit ideas and will incorporate a few into my packing! Staying at Willowhouse, which I would recommend if going again someday. We visited this spring right before COVID shut everything down. In Terlingua, Starlight Theatre is fun. Especially for that western vibe! The cemetery is interesting to walk through. Hikes in Big Bend… The canyon hike, window and lost mine trails. We brought our own lunch for a picnic. In Marfa we stayed at Hotel St George but didn’t eat there. Like The Sentinel for a drink also had good tacos there. Looking forward to trying para llever. Also, Stellina has been highly recommended but last I checked it’s still closed. Have fun!
There is an app for travel to some of the National Parks, called Just Ahead. I highly recommend it for a trip to Big Bend. We learned so much that we didn’t know and we’ve visited many times. Check it out.
