SPELL AND THE GYPSY COLLECTIVE ADA GOWN

As I mentioned in this post, I had ordered several new items ahead of my trip to West Texas as I had planned to shoot some content while there. Before you get on my case about buying clothing for a trip like this, I live in Texas and frequent ranches throughout the year… so buying Western-inspired stuff isn’t totally random! I ordered pieces I would absolutely wear again… but naturally, not a lot of it worked! That’s just how the cookie crumbles when ordering online – sometimes you score big, and other times it’s a total fail.

While I didn’t snag as much good stuff as I’d hoped, I did end up with a few pieces I adore! The first of those being these Isabel Marant Denvee boots. They are just Western enough without being an actual cowboy boot, which will make them more useful in my wardrobe! I got the Taupe color, which reads a greyish brown. My cowboy boots are cognac and black, so this is another great neutral to have on hand! One thing you need to know about Isabel Marant shoes is they run very, very small. I normally wear a 9 1/2 and took a 41 in these boots! So definitely size up in these! I wore them a ton on this trip and they were super comfortable on the very first wear. No breaking in necessary! These boots stand up straight, but can also be worn slouchy. I think they look fabulous with dresses and jeans alike! Stay tuned to see how I styled them with jeans in the next week or two…

This animal print dress was another item from the same order as the boots, and they just so happened to match perfectly! I didn’t buy them with the intention of wearing them together, but I love how it worked out. This dress is pretty lightweight, which suited the warmer temps earlier in the week in Terlingua! I love the ruffled and crochet trim, and you know I adore a belted waist. While I love it with the boots, this dress also looks great with sandals and heels! This dress is a button-front style and there is no zipper. I’m wearing a small and it fits great!

I’ll be sharing more outfits and photos from our trip over the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned! Also keep an eye on this page for the various city guides. Terlingua is already up, and will be sharing Marfa + Marathon soon!
