BUDGET-FRIENDLY FALL/WINTER STAPLES

11.16

The weather has been consistently cool lately, which has been such a treat! It’s been the perfect temperature for my daily walks with Reeses now that she’s home again, and we’ve been turning on the fire every night while we cozy up on the couch! I’ve said it before, but this time of year is my favorite. I love the weather, the colorful foliage, *the clothes*, and of course, the holiday season in general! I snagged this plaid double-breasted coat before my trip to West Texas, and I actually had a chance to wear it in October. The day of my old home’s closing date it was in the 40’s, so I decided to break it in that day!

The colors of this coat are on point for fall, featuring dark brown, ivory and rust. The brown is so dark it looks great with black too, which makes it a very versatile choice for fall/winter! The sizing notes on Nordstrom said to size down, so I purchased a 4 in this coat – it definitely runs big. I love the belted waist, but it looks great open too! You can see it worn both ways here. The best part is this cozy coat is only $179 – super elegant and polished while still being on the more budget-friendly side!

A couple of other new-ish pieces I’m wearing here are this ivory mock neck sweater and these cognac ankle boots! You might recall that I purchased these boots during this year’s #NSALE. So excited I can finally wear them! Two of my very favorite pairs of boots are in a similar cognac color (this heeled knee-high pair and this flat OTK pair), so I’m thrilled to have an ankle boot in this color now. The sweater is a bit oversized – I’m wearing a size small here! The boots are true to size. Both pieces are also on the more budget-friendly side, with the sweater being under $100 and the boots being $120!
