ADAM LIPPES FLORAL MIDI DRESS // MERRITT BECK, THE STYLE SCRIBE

The past year hasn’t given us much of a reason to buy fancy pieces like party dresses, heels, clutches, and more. I have spent most of my money on loungewear, comfy shoes and now furniture as I attempt to decorate my new house! I hadn’t planned to buy this dress, but when I saw this stunning floral jacquard number on major sale at Nordstrom, I had to have it. Sure, I don’t have a wedding or event coming up in the immediate future to wear it to… but with a timeless silhouette and print, and a very useful color scheme I knew it would be a wise purchase far beyond this season. Some of my favorite cocktail dresses I wear repeatedly are ones I purchased years ago! While I scored this designer dress 60% off, with an original price of $2,890 it was still a pretty penny even with that big discount. But to me, it was worth the investment! Read on to discover why…

What I love most about this dress (aside from the insanely flattering fit and flare silhouette), is the incredibly versatile color scheme. The romantic florals over a black backdrop make it useful year round! I can style it with lighter accessories like I’ve done here for parties/weddings in the spring and summer, and switch it up to black for the colder months of the year. I also LOVE this particular midi length! I’ve said this previously, but when searching for midi styles you want the hem to hit you on a thinner part of your leg for the most flattering look (instead of centering on your calf, for example). This dress hits right below my calf, which draws your eye to the ankle and smaller part of your leg! Finally, the last but certainly not the least important factor that makes me swoon? Deep pockets. Perfect for storing lipstick, your phone or anything else that you might want easy access too. If you’re not a midi dress or fit-and-flare silhouette kind of gal, this gorgeous floral jacquard is also available in this shorter sheath style. It’s also 60% off, making it $636! For sizing, I went with a 6. This dress fits me to a T and accommodates a larger bust!

While florals for spring are hardly groundbreaking, they are hotter than ever this season! Nordstrom has such an amazing selection of designer finds, featuring the biggest trends and the best classics too. Shop more of my floral favorites (at all price points!) from Nordstrom below!
