2020 was certainly the year of loungewear purchases for me, but I’m thinking 2021 is going to be the year of *shoes*. As I continue to get back into pre-pandemic shape, I’m not as eager to spend much on new clothing. I’ve done a couple clothing try-ons, but if I’m being honest, I don’t love buying new clothes when I’m trying to lose weight! Shoes, however, can be purchased regardless of how I’m currently fitting into my clothes… plus, I’m just obsessed with the footwear trends this season!
One shoe brand I’m so excited to have recently discovered is Villa Rouge! I haven’t been able to find any information about the brand, but since it’s only available on Shopbop + Amazon, I have to assume it’s an in-house brand. I recently ordered two different pairs of shoes by them, and I am so impressed with the quality, comfort and on trend styles they’ve created! They make a bunch of designer-inspired pieces, but the price points are much more approachable.
The Viva mules are the ones I’m wearing in this post, and they are a great lookalike to Bottega Veneta’s quilted style! Not a total copycat (which I appreciate), but it’s definitely clear where they got their inspo from. The other pair of sandals I purchased is the Mattison sandal, which looks a lot like Staud’s ruched styles this season! I actually tried the Staud version first (in both ecru and brown) and thought the bands were too fitted and inflexible. I also didn’t love the colors in person – they just wouldn’t have been very useful in my wardrobe! The Villa Rouge version, however, is SUPER comfy and stretchy. The color is more like a warm vanilla than an ecru/bone – such a pretty spring/summer neutral! Both of the sandals I purchased are under $150, which is a nice change from designer pricing! If you’re on the hunt for more spring/summer shoe styles, don’t miss a few roundups of my favorites below:
ONE // TWO // THREE // FOUR // FIVE // SIX // SEVEN // EIGHT // NINE // TEN // ELEVEN // TWELVE // THIRTEEN // FOURTEEN // FIFTEEN // SIXTEEN // SEVENTEEN // EIGHTEEN // NINETEEN // TWENTY // TWENTY-ONE // TWENTY-TWO // TWENTY-THREE // TWENTY-FOUR
PS: I’ll be sure to do a sneaker roundup sometime soon!
