I’m so excited to share that I *finally* have a living room update!!! After months of waiting for the furniture and rug I ordered back in November, things are finally arriving. My rug arrived a few weeks ago and my sofas arrived last week! I’m still waiting on the chairs for the space, but those should be here in the next week or so. I also just placed the order for my coffee table! It’ll probably be another ten weeks before I receive that, as it is a custom piece. I wanted to get the sofas in and measure everything out with tape to confirm the coffee table dimensions, which is why I waited so long to order! The original coffee table we were looking at was just too narrow for this layout, so I decided to order this table in a 48x60x18 size. I wanted the coffee table to be within easy reach of both sofas, so a wider style was necessary!
I am THRILLED with how the rug turned out! Buying a rug online is always a little risky, as color is often hard to capture correctly in photos and it is impossible to know how soft and high-quality a rug is through pictures. With no rug sample, I was rolling the dice! But I’m so glad I did, because it is perfect. It has all the right colors for the space and ties everything together! The warm tones in the rug pull in the burl wood of my coffee table, side table, and the bookshelves, while the olive tones pull in the darker antique bar and cooler tones in the antelope pillows. The creamy whites throughout compliment the sofas and Benjamin Moore White Dove paint in the space!
I’m also ecstatic with how my sofas look! In case you missed the drama, about a month ago my sofas were delivered in the wrong fabric. I refused the delivery, and thankfully the manufacturer was able to fix the issue pretty quickly! They started from scratch and created the sofas again using the correct fabric in just four weeks. The correct sofas were delivered just last Monday and they look amazing! The elegant, sloped arms are such a beautiful detail. These sofas are the same length as the one I had in my last house, but I love the shorter back for a less boxy look in this space. The fabric is Crypton, which is moisture, stain and odor resistant – perfect for a girl with a dog! Since I ordered the sofas through my interior designer, Amelia (also co-founder of Shop Anecdote!), I was able to select a custom fabric color and also request a single cushion seat. Email Amelia if you’d like to customize the “Merritt” sofa on the website!
I’ll be sure to do a final reveal once I have my chairs + coffee table, but in the meantime, peruse some photos of my living room at the moment below! I’m so so happy with how it looks and can’t wait til the space in complete in the next couple of months. I’ve linked everything I can at the bottom of the post, so scroll down to shop!
