WHAT I ACTUALLY WORE ON THE PLANE AND FOR OUR FIRST DAY IN NEW YORK

10.28

Happy Monday! I’m back home in Dallas after a very relaxing trip in the Hamptons, followed by a fun weekend of celebrating the marriage of a close family friend. Aside from three or so hours Tuesday to meet some collaboration deadlines, I really haven’t worked much over the last week! It’s been a nice break from my computer, although I did manage to share plenty over on Instagram Stories. But back to work! I’m playing catch-up today and working on content for this week, but I really need to start gearing up and planning my holiday content. Once Halloween is over, my holiday calendar begins with gift guides, a new capsule wardrobe, a holiday party outfit guide and more! I’ll also be out of town quite a bit leading up to Christmas, so I’ve really gotta get on it.

Now that we’ve gotten caught up, here’s the outfit I actually wore on my flight and first day of my New York trip! A little over a week ago I shared what I’d planned to wear, but the temps dropped and I had to scrap it. I opted for this chic ecru coat I found at MANGO, a good go-to of mine for budget-friendly sweaters and outerwear! The day I wore it there was a promo code for 30% off which I shared on InstaStories, and it quickly sold out in this color… but it’s still available in a pretty light grey! And who knows, maybe the ecru hue will come back in stock. Make sure to add yourself to the waitlist to be alerted if it reappears in your size!

Two other things I must mention? This cashmere turtleneck and these leather ankle boots. I’ve had this sweater for a few years now, and it is still one of my very favorite basics! It’s a super soft, high-quality cashmere that comes in a bevy of colors – black is actually the only color I own, but I’m thinking I may get it in winter white this year. It really is the best style – I’ve worn mine casually with jeans, as well as dressed it up with pleated skirts for dinners and holiday parties! These boots were the standout hit of my travel wardrobe last week. I wore them all day several days of our trip and they were SO comfy! Wore them on the flight there and back too. Highly recommend! Plus, the pointy-toe style is incredibly flattering and elevates these boots for transitioning easily from day to night.
